The Power Within book is a comprehensive overview of adidas' 'Impossible is Nothing' campaign 2007. Over thirty of the world's most inspiring sportsmen and women came together to reveal what truly drives them, through illustration, painting and sculpture. Their stories, drawings and artworks were at the heart of the largest ever marketing campaign undertaken by adidas, setting a new standard for integrated media channels. Including works by David Beckham, Reggie Bush, Jonah Lomu and Gilbert\ Arenas, 'Power Within' explores the defining moments in their lives. The very act of expressing themselves in art uncovers a truth rarely seen in sport. The aim of the book was to simulate the experience of moving through a gallery space. Guided by the athlete telling their story the reader begins their journey by viewing the athletes' early sketches, then moves through the process of creation before seeing the finished canvas or installation/sculpture as they would be exhibited. The book's 256 pages are bound in an embossed cover and feature drawings and painted elements from the athletes' canvases to create a rich and playful graphic language. The typography weaves the athletes' story sensitively through the visuals and the headlines reflect the athletes drawing style.
