Script in English

Child: First she tied him up, then she took two pins and stuck them in his eye and stomach. Wow, did he scream with the pain, and beg for his life. But she just laughed. And you should have seen how she started cutting off his leg, just like Grandpa does when he cuts logs with a saw. There was blood everywhere, and he just kept screaming and screaming. Then his leg fell on the floor, but when she cut off his other leg, and he stopped moving, I got bored and changed channels.

ANN: You have listened to 100 words. One picture is worth a thousand.
Don’t abandon your child in front of the TV.
A campaign by the National Audiovisual Council of Romania, financed by the European Union.
Script in Orginal Language

O singura imagine face cat o mie.
Nu-ti abandona copilul in fata televizorului.
Brief Explanation

Romanians are fed up with recommendations from authorities and usually ignore them, if not strictly disobeying. Therefore the whole campaign approach was to present the shocking effects of inappropriate TV watching by kids and letting parents choose what's best for their children.
The CNA campaign (including also TV spots) provoked a huge national debate related to the effects of TV watching in kids; it was also one of the few times when Romanian citizens greatly supported an institution’s point of view.
