MVO: Mondays have sleep in their eyes. Mondays are first gear. Mondays are for coffee machines and water coolers. Mondays are pencil sharpening days. Mondays are a warm up and stretch for Tuesdays.
Tuesdays are better. Tuesdays, it begins. Tuesdays you know what needs to be done. Tuesdays throb with promise like a sock-full of cicadas. Then it’s Wednesday.
Wednesdays, there’s no going back. Wednesdays are the turning point. The pivot, the fulcrum of the week. Wednesdays are locked and loaded. Wednesdays are Redbull and meat pie days. Short blacks and shorter lunches. Wednesdays are suddenly Thursdays.
Thursdays are fast and furious. Thursdays, you don’t just hit your straps, you give them a damn good thrashing. Thursday sounds like this:
SFX: Tarzan scream
MVO: But Thursdays are nothing. Cos here comes Friday! The day! Fridays you’re firing on 12! Fridays you’re in a street fight and landing all the punches! Fridays you cross the line, break the records, take the podium! Fridays are victory! Fridays are a fist in the air! Fridays are Dom Perignon! Fridays are the business!
ANN: Introducing The Business Herald. The essential business tool – free in the New Zealand Herald every Friday.
The Business Herald. Now at the business end of the week.
Brief Explanation
Brief: Announce that the supplement, The Business Herald, which appeared in Monday’s edition of The NZ Herald newspaper, was moving to Friday. The idea had to give some credence to the move that would be relevant to the professional business men and women
that read the supplement.
Solution: ‘Friday’ is a rallying cry to business people. It marks the stages people go through as they march through the days of the week to gloriously celebrate Friday as the business end of the week.
