Script in English
ANNCR: This is what sex is like with an ordinary condom.
WOMAN: (naughtily) I’ve never done it in a public place before.
ANNCR: This is what sex is like with a Durex condom.
WOMAN: Wooo... Is this the same ‘Burger Barn’ as last week?
ANNCR: With four different types of exciting condoms in every box of Durex Pleasure Mix, there’s a perfect condom choice for everyone. Durex Pleasure Mix. Variety is the spice of life. There’s sex and then there’s Durex.
Brief Explanation
It has become a part of our everyday job in Canada to apply a unique Canadian identity to the products and services we have in common with the United States. In the Durex Lubricants example, it is well known that Canadians have very different and more liberal views on sex than our US counterparts. Therefore, our ads had to be a little more risqué than the more conservative US campaign to reflect those attitudes. The differences are self-evident. The US used comparisons with amusement park rides while we used threesomes, public sex at burger joints and screaming monkeys.
