ANN: Hello, children. When you ask your mummy to leave the light on tonight, you will not be safe from the creature that lurks behind your bedroom curtains.
For one thing, a creature that lives by the window is probably not afraid of light. And secondly, a wafer-thin glass bulb is hardly going to protect you from half a tonne of jagged teeth, claws and horns.
Your best hope is that the creature behind your curtains is as petrified of the dark as you are.
This has been a bedtime warning from Osram energy saving lamps. They may not save you, but at least they save more energy.
Brief Explanation
Osram energy saving lamps do what their name suggests. Saving up to 80% more energy than normal bulbs, they are the best alternative to turning the light off, all together. To promote them, our campaign focuses on the one time when lights are better left on - a child's bedtime. Each separate commercial is an eerie 'bedtime warning' stating that, although an energy saving lamp is useless against bedroom monsters, it will save energy. The campaign was aired during drive-time and targeted parents heading home for the evening.
