Script in English

MVO: You know my old friend Pedro? He’s a regular hombre, but sometimes he likes to try new things, especially when Mrs Pedro is out of town.

The other day he sat down to have some lunch and he decided to try the Tabasco his cousin Ernesto had sent him from Cusco. Pedro put a drop of Tabasco on his avocados, then some burritos, some tortillas and even some mojitos. Ay carambo! Ernesto’s Cusco Tabasco - hotter than Castro’s manifesto - better than Mrs Pedro’s fifty peso Montechristo San Francisco bistro pesto.

Tabasco tacos, nachos and pintos, even Tabasco flaming mojitos. El carbonado desperado taste tornado. His quesos and pucheros went presto! Gusto antipasto. Bunuelos and churros machismo. Quell Tabasco fiasco! El Pedro, el Ernesto Cusco Tabasco avocado, taco, nacho, burrito and mojito Aficionado. Ay Tabasco. No contesto.

ANN: Tabasco. Make your tongue sweat a little.

Brief Explanation

Tabasco Hot Pepper Sauce gives your mouth a serious workout. In taking this idea into radio, we took traditional tongue twisters (the ultimate tongue exercise) and wrote a few of our own. Each Tabasco tongue twister is a story told by a certain character – a Mexican, a Xhosa-speaking South African (whose language is notoriously full of clicks and a 'Coloured' South African from Cape Town (a community celebrated for their unique accents) – and each of the stories somehow feature Tabasco. When Tabasco comes into the story, each of the voices and their repetitive sounds goes a bit crazy.
