The Butterfly fish decides at its adolescence which gender it will adopt in its adulthood. For example, when a young butterfly fish meets a ready to mate female, it becomes a male. This principle also works the other way round. Humans can’t switch their gender that easily without professional help. And if they do, it costs tens of thousands of Euros. And after that they look quite weird.

The Butterfly fish is better than us.

MVO: Das ist ein Korallenfisch.

Er entscheidet sich erst im Jugendalter, welches Geschlecht er als erwachsener Fisch annehmen möchte. Trifft zum Beispiel ein junger Korallenfisch auf ein paarungsbereites Weibchen, wird er zum Männchen. Umgekehrt funktioniert das Prinzip natürlich auch. Menschen können das nicht so einfach ohne fremde Hilfe. Und falls sie diese doch in Anspruch nehmen, kostet es Zehntausende Euros und sie sehen danach irgendwie komisch aus.

Der Korallenfisch ist besser als wir.
