MVO: Welcome to today’s Twenty20 International at Eden Park.
It’s a beautiful day. Nice firm conditions under foot. We can expect a tight match. Odds on favourites, the home side.

Anderson coming in now and they’re off the mark. Out in the middle is Oram and Fleming, both players batting strong. Pieterson and Anderson moving up into the slips as Swann delivers one nice and full. Big six and comfortable four on the offside, and now that’s a cheeky single. Big appeal for LBW but somehow the umpire doesn’t see it. 6,4,6,4,4,6,6
marvellous shot that.

Down to the final overs now it’s Vettorri and McCullem picking up the pace with the fielders moving inside the circle just in case they try and have a go. McCullem charging up the pitch, my word you won’t see too many better shots than that today. One to go and they’ll run it quick. Pietersen throws it in from the outfield, scores a direct hit, there’s nothing in it but oh and Blackcaps win it by an over and a half.

International Twenty20, Blackcaps vs England, 7pm this Tuesday at Eden Park. Call 0508 CRICKET or visit TICKETEK.

Brief Explanation

Twenty20 is the fastest form of Cricket there is. Rather than the full one-day match, a Twenty20 game is completed in about three hours. This limited format of cricket results in huge hits, quick wickets and a much more exciting game to watch. Because of its fast nature, we used New Zealand’s most recognisable horse race commentator to voice our radio spot.
