MVO: The Story of Johnny Head-in-Air with ACC, RNS 510 and Park Assist.

As he trudged along to school,
It was always Johnny's rule
To be looking at the sky
And the clouds that floated by;
But what just before him sprout,
Johnny never thought about;
So that every one, I swear:
Cried, 'Look, it’s Johnny Head-In-Air!'

When a little dog one day;
Comes running just in Johnny's way,
The boy, just like every morning,
Doesn’t give in to the warning.
'Johnny watch! The dog! Now stop!'
He just replies 'A dog, so what?
My ACC with Front Assist,
Warns, so the obstacle is missed.'

Once, with head as high as ever,
Johnny walks beside the river.
Watches all the swallows trying,
Which is cleverest at flying.
So he strides on, only think!
To the river's very brink.
One more step. 'Beware! Stop walking!'
It’s the navigation system talking.

It tells Johnny the direction.
With calculation, not affection.
The RNS 510,
He never sees it, even when,
Mama gives her dinner call,
Since down he hardly looks at all.
It always guides him, never wrong,
And plays meanwhile his favourite song.

Back at home John likes the feeling,
Of gazing at the kitchen ceiling.
So luckily the Park Assist,
Makes sure the table isn’t missed.
And that’s not all, it takes good care,
And steers Johnny to his chair.
Just then the child says nicely 'Mummy,
My neck is stiff. Is dinner yummy?'

The moral is that innovations,
Prevent bad ends and complications.

Wenn der Hanns zur Schule ging,
Stets sein Blick am Himmel hing.
Nach den Dächern, Wolken, Schwalben
Schaut er aufwärts, allenthalben:
Vor die eignen Füße dicht,
Ja, da sah der Bursche nicht,
Also dass ein jeder ruft:
'Seht den Hanns Guck-in-die-Luft!'

Kommt ein Hund daher gerannt;
Blickt das Hännslein unverwandt
In die Luft.
Bis einer ruft:
'Hanns! Gib acht, ein Hund, ein Hund!'
Da ruft das Hännschen frech 'Na und?
Mein ACC mit Front Assist,
warnt mich, dass da etwas ist.'

So geht er an Ufers Rand
Mit der Mappe in der Hand.
Schaut nicht nach vorn, sondern nach oben,
kommt die Schwalbe angeflogen,
Sagt 'Komm Hännschen, hier geht’s hin'
Fast liegt er schon im Flusse drin.
Noch ein Schritt! 'Doch halt! So nicht!'
Es ist das Navi, dass da spricht.

Es weißt dem Hännschen stehts die Richtung,
das ist kein Spaß, das ist nicht Dichtung.
Das RNS 510,
Hat der Hanns noch nie geseh’n.
Denn er schaut stets in die Luft,
Selbst wenn Mama zum Essen ruft.
Dann weist es ihm den Weg zurück,
und spielt dabei sein Lieblingsstück.

Zu Hause in der Essensecke,
schaut Hännschen weiter an die Decke.
Zum Glück zeigt ihm der Park Assist,
Wo sein Platz am Tische ist.
Und nicht nur das, er lenkt gewitzt.
Den Hanns bis auf dem Stuhl er sitzt.
Da sagt das Kind ganz lieb zu Muttern:
'Mein Hals tut weh, was gibt’s zu futtern?'

Und die Moral? Technologie vermeidet,
das böse End, und dass wer’s erleidet.

Brief Explanation
We produced podcasts for children that explained the innovative Volkswagen technologies by using traditional, well-known children’s stories.

„Struwwelpeter“ is a popular German children's book, originally written by Heinrich Hoffmann in 1845, translated, amongst others, by Mark Twain. It comprises of several stories, each with a clear moral that demonstrates the disastrous consequences of misbehavior in an exaggerated way.

Because the stories always end tragically, it is also referred to as the world's most nightmarish children's book. In our revised version of „Struwwelpeter“, the characters are equipped with innovations from Volkswagen. As a result, the stories now have a happy end.
