Brief Explanation
Over the past few years, The Philippines has earned a reputation as one of the deadliest places in the world for journalists. In fact it has ranked second to Iraq, and tied with Russia, for number of journalism-related deaths.
The Philippine Daily Inquirer, the country’s top newspaper, wanted to bring more attention to this concern for World Press Freedom Day and aired this radio spot.
