Greenpeace wanted to put pressure on the it industry to stop relying on coal for its huge energy consumption and chose Facebook as a representative target. The commercial was released at the same time as David Fincher's Social Network film. By telling Mark Zuckerberg's story via a child's perspective, the strong case for Facebook to use renewable energy could be put forward simply and effectively.
