The music featured in this film is an adapted version of "You Got It", a classic Roy Orbison tune. The track was completely re-orchestrated with a slower tempo, designed to increase the emotion behind these powerful lyrics. Prior to shooting, a guide track was created, which helped determine pacing and performance. Days before the shoot, this track was sent out to our cast of patients, parents, doctors, nurses, and support staff, allowing them time to rehearse. During the shoot, music was played back into an earpiece, allowing us to capture the spontaneity and emotion of true live-action singing.
This is an ad for The Hospital For Sick Children – affectionately known in Canada as “SickKids” and features real patients, parents, doctors, nurses and support staff. It leverages the emotional pull of music, making use of a classic tune, re-purposed to make the powerful lyrics work in a completely different context.
The TV Commercial titled You Got It was done by J. Walter Thompson Toronto advertising agency for product: SickKids (brand: Sickkids Foundation) in Canada. It was released in the Nov 2012.
