1.594 participants from 42 countries attended the 15th Golden Drum festival in which a total of 2.753 entries from 44 countries competed for awards. The Golden Rose award for the Agency of the year given by the president of Slovenia, dr. Danilo Türk, went to the Polish agency Change Integrated.

Change Integrated won with 36 points. It was followed by the agency McCann Erickson Israel (35 points), Saatchi & Saatchi Romania on the third place (29 points), Demner, Merlicek & Bergmann and Lowe GGK Werbeagentur GESMBH, both from Austria, on the fourth place (23 points).

The seven awarded Golden Drums in TV went to the commercials: “Matrix”, for Doncafe, agency Leo Burnett & Target SA, Romania; series “Throw the Swedes Out – Bathroom and Bedroom” for Moemax, agency Demner, Merlicek & Bergmann, Austria; “Volvo - Cafe” for Volvo S60, agency McCAnn Erickson Israel; “We are still learning” for Academy of Performing Arts, agency Vaculik Advertising from Slovak Republic; “Mice vs. Hamsters” for Salvator-D, PR agency, agency JWT Russia; “Nothing” for Ejobs.ro, agency Leo Burnett & Target SA from Romania; “Weapon” for Amnesty Internation Slovenia, agency Pristop.

The jury also awarded 16 Silver Drums.

In the GROUP B - PRESS ADS the GRAND PRIX award went to the agency Saatchi & Saatchi Romania for the Head & Shoulders Campaign, consisted of three ads “1961 Man, 1961 Woman and 1961 Boy”, creative director Nick Hine, copywriters Jorg Riommi and Arturo Vittorioso and art directors Daniela Nedelschi, Jorg Riommi and Arturo Vittorioso.

The eight Golden Drums were awarded to: series “Ketchup, Mustard, Hot Chocolate and Grass”, for Ariel, agency Saatchi & Saatchi Romania; series “Mosquitos – Salesman, Boss, Wife” for Insektum-2, BROS, agency Leo Burnett Warsaw; series “Waistcoat and Pulover” for Beretta, SC Riello, agency Publicis from Romania; series “American Myth, European Myth and Japanese Myth” for Honda CBR Fireblade, agency Cohn & Jansen – Ashley & Holmes, Romania; series “Marx, Stalin, Lenin” for Museum of Communism, agency Young & Rubicam Praha; “Uhrmacher Hüthler”, for Lowe GGK Werbeagentur GmbH, agency Lowe GGK Werbeagentur GESmbH from Austria; “Earthquake” for Dask, agency Grey Istanbul; and “Dog 1” for BGD Foundation for the Stray Animals Rights, agency Markom/Leo Burnett from Turkey.

Nine Silver Drums were also awarded.

In the GROUP C - OUTDOOR ADS the jury decided that the GRAND PRIX goes to the series “Art-rat, Dog-god, Mug-gum” for Scrabble, agency Ogilvy & Mather Budapest, creative director Gabor Spiemann, art director Bruno Almeida.

The seven Golden Drums went to the series “Independent State of Euphoria, Popular Repubic of Lust, Emirate of Bliss, Principaty of Rapture” for Dodoni Ice Cream, agency The Syndicate, Greece; “Goldstar Slow Chart - Toilet” for Goldstar Beer, agency McCann Erickson Israel; series “38, 47, 48” for Procter & Gamble’s Olay, agency Saatchi & Saatchi Russia; “LBD” for Strada shoes, agency New Moment New Ideas Company, Serbia; “Bright” for Maglite, agency Original, Slovenia and the ad “Wireless trolleybus” for KOU, agency AGE Reklaam from Estonia.

Sixteen Silver Drums were also awarded.

In the GROUP D - RADIO ADS there was no Grand Prix and three Golden Drums. They went to the radio ad “Very little” for EF-Language School, agency Contra Integrated Creative Services from Finlands; “Zorro” for AdFel, agency IQads from Romania; series “The Downfall of St. Paul, The Return of the Prodigal Son” for Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna, agency Saatchi & Saatchi from Austria.

Four Silver Drums were also awarded.

DARK NIKE is the newly introduced award. For the best execution the craft award was given to Walker Werbeagentur from Switzerland for Fleurop Annual Report. The best production company is Kaspen from Czech Republic with 13 points, second is Tandem Filmom from Romania (10) and McCann Movies from Israel (9).

Newly introduced this year is also WINGED NIKE for the best client. It was given in 18 categories.

STUDIO DRUM - Golden Drum Film Director’s Show

THE CUP

All finalists at Golden Drum festival 2008 New Europe will be automatically ranked in the competition at the second judging to The Cup ICAC. The second judging of The Cup will be held at Bled, Slovenia in Grand Hotel Toplice from November 3 to 8.
