Every year, during the last week-end of May, San Sebastian is the place where the best of the creative work from advertising agencies can be shown. The best ideas of the year compete for the "Soles de Oro" (Golden Suns), the great Prize of the festival.
The San Sebastian advertising festival is the most important activity of the Asociación Española de Agencias de Publicidad (Advertising Agencies Spanish Association) which organizes the festival with the goal of impulsing Spanish creativity. Since its first edition in 1986, the festival has converted itself into the most prestigious meeting forum of the advertising sector in Spain.
The San Sebastian Awards are attributed by 19 Creative Directors.
During the 2001 edition took place for the first time a communication fair with various stands presenting products and services of the advertising world.
