Describe the brief from the client
Design a unique/proprietary business card for the action painter Anton Jessner from the Hermannn Nitsch school.

Describe the challenges and key objectives
The business card should not only visualise Anton Jessner’s work but should be designed in such an interesting and unusual way that domestic and foreign gallery owners, sponsors, art reproducers and those interested in art generally would be liable to keep the card.

Describe how you arrived at the final design
Anton Jessner is an action painter renowned for his schuettbilder. We have transferred his art, which is usually shown on metre sized canvasses, down to business card format. The business card is made of special acrylic paper, and the name, contact details and address of the artist’s studio are printed on the reverse side. The front side is a schuettbild in miniature – which means every business card is a valuable original Jessner.

Give some indication of how successful the outcome was in the market
All 426 business cards printed were “out of print” in a very short period of time. In the first week, Anton Jessner was offered two exhibitions. And a gallery owner would like to publish an art book featuring the business card “campaign”“.
