Describe the brief from the client
Redesign the entire family of the most important Portuguese language dictionary.

Describe the challenges and key objectives
The most important Portuguese dictionary needed to regain its leadership in a refreshed edition celebrating the author’s 100 years. The concept of the new edition was to bring to live the work heritage of Brazil's greatest lexicographist and the design of the Aurélio font was based on his writings and notes.

Describe how you arrived at the final design
Research old documents from author’s family collection to identify old writings, pictures and elements that links the author’s biography and personality and attract students and people to discover his history while consulting the meaning of words. The font was designed based on the author’s original writings. An extensive legibility and readability research was made to determine the selection of font families to accomplish.
