Media placement: Business Card - Hua Hin Beach Advertising Workshop - 18 October 2009

Describe the challenges and key objectives
The Bangkok Art Directors Association needs to recruit young creatives as well as industry leaders to take part in an intensive workshop. This workshop needs to draw experienced and talented industry staffers who will invest their time and effort to draw young people to the industry and find a team who will represent Thailand at Cannes Young Lions 2010.

Describe the brief from the client
Instead of a traditional workshop, a fully operational pop-up ad agency on the beach was run for three months by the Bangkok Art Directors Association.

Describe how you arrived at the final design
The workshop was structured as a working insta-agency, complete with creative teams, paying clients and real briefs. We had to draw experienced industry creatives to taking time off from pitches and presentations to come work with the youth. So we sold everyone on the real agency thing: Level of industry experience in the agency was indicated by your tan level on your business card. Logo extended to T-shirts, stationery and to denote 'meeting rooms' on the beach, as well as a 12 foot statue.

Give some indication of how successful the outcome was in the market
Twenty international industry leaders with a combined 260 years of industry experience working together with 36 young creatives from 18 ad agencies and universities, double the highest number ever.
