Biennale Theme – Re-living the City is the theme of the 2015 Bi-City Biennale. Aiming at reconstructing our cities for a better future, it proposes to reuse, rethink and reimagine existing architectures and cities, and to reshape daily lives through design. Without relying on the majestic blueprints by others or focusing on building up brand new cities or infrastructures, the Biennale endeavors to utilize, rethink and represent all that we already have to make things better. VI Concept – The Biennale theme and the curatorial idea run through our VI design process. We develop the concept around the core theme of “Re-”, reusing and redesigning the patterns, typographies and other visual elements of past biennales’ identities. After recollecting newspapers, planning maps, advertising banners, mosaic, plastic knitting bags and construction wastes from around the world, we reframe the materials and screen print biennale information on them, making them into new promotional materials for the Biennale, such as paper bags, posters, reusable bags, pencils, notebooks, badges, brochures and trophies. Every promotional material is unique.
