Describe the brief from the client
Create an iPad version of the printed BMW Magazine containing additional features.

Describe the challenges and key objectives
The key objective was to create a magazine that takes advantage of all the possibilities the iPad offers.

Based on the first App we created ( BMW Magazine 2/2010) we felt compelled to rethink our ideas, and found plenty of room for improvement, for example introducing a new way of reading articles in the portrait mode and therefore making articles more interactive and exciting.

Describe how you arrived at the final design
The general design directive for the iPad version was of course set by the printed issue of the BMW Magazine, which was designed by us as well.

Based on the print layout we took full advantage of the iPad’s multimedia features, creating a unique magazine, that comes alive with stunning visual effects and interesting sounds.

Give some indication of how successful the outcome was in the market
This App did great in the German Appstore, reaching position 12 in the overall charts and claiming the second spot of the Lifestyle charts without being advertised by BMW at all.
