Brief Explanation:
The primary challenge was to come up with a concept that would reelect love for fashion and then create a calendar that would be seen as a piece of art and fashion and would stay with the consumers for an entire year. The key objective was to bring together the virtues of season-less fabrics, the glamour and beauty of textures and the love for designs in every image that would span the 12 months.
Describe the brief from the client:
An in-house project by Splash, the brief was to design and conceptualize the Splash 2014 Calendar, based on the concept of Love with fashion which was launched in 2013 as part of the brand's 20 year celebrations in the Region. The calendar was to feature 12 stunning visuals bringing together the concept of fashion and art which have been underlying principles of a Splash Calendar since launched in 2011. Weaving together the concept of love and drawing inspiration from 6 key fabrics that have been used in the business, the 2014 calendar titled 'In love with Fashion' was born.
Description of how you arrived at the final design:
After deciding internally at Splash on the theme 'In Love with fashion', 6 international photographers were asked to pitch and share concepts of imagery. After a detailed process Tejal Patni's concept was chosen and then started the work on putting together the finalized mood boards along with the CEO & Tejal. Post finalization of concepts the team which included Furne One at Amato, stylists, make-up artists, set producers, etc were roped. he Splash creative team internally designed the Calendar and the packaging for the A2, 500 limited edition calendars and the desktop calendars.
Indication of how successful the outcome was in the market:
The 500 Limited Edition Calendars was given to key opinion makers in the MENA region and were extremely well received with positive reviews from all media. The desktop calendars which were given to customers on a purchase led offer were also an instant success and were over in the first 10 days of launch.
