The brief was to differentiate and evolve from the traditional Chinese restaurants in Colombo and the generic logo designs that pervade the market.

To stand apart from the competition and create a unique and memorable identity.

Describe how you arrived at the final design
The mark combines the two aspects of the name, China Doll - The 'face' is a mix of classic and contemporary symbols of beauty replete with a beauty spot, while the negative space delineates the iconic Chinese bowl and chopsticks - The resulting identity relates to its young, urban audience.

Give some indication of how successful the outcome was in the market
Achieved brand recognition & popularity among the target audience within a short period of time. Today China Doll is one of the most popular Chinese noodle cuisine outlets in the city.
