Describe the brief from the client
Create a logo for, a site that houses monthly vintage vinyl mixes from record collectors DJ Serious, Kaewonder and Arcee.

Describe the challenges and key objectives
The key objective was to create a logo that communicates the meaning behind the word “Cratery”, and embodies the spirit of DJ’s and record collectors around the world.

Describe how you arrived at the final design
The Cratery logo is a nod to the pre-mp3 era of music where DJ’s and record aficionados would store and transport their collections in discarded milkcrates found behind shops around the city.

Give some indication of how successful the outcome was in the market
The logo was incredibly well-received by DJ’s and collectors alike, spawning the development of Cratery T-shirts and Cratery-branded DJ products (slipmats, record bags etc).
