Describe the challenges and key objectives
This year we wanted to 'reload' the calendar format in the style of a 365 cm tape measure, with each cm marking the days, combining a functional calendar with a convenient measuring device.

Describe the brief from the client
Every year, Costa Rica’s #1 hardware chain, el lagar®, gives away calendars to customers. It’s a traditional way to keep the company in the public eye and a practical tool throughout the year.

Describe how you arrived at the final design
The intention was a metric calendar equivalent to the standard of any-other; highlighting all National and Traditional holidays. The final 3.65m design and progressive 365 day outlook marks each day of the year, one centimeter at a time with measuring-tape design.

Give some indication of how successful the outcome was in the market
Expecting nothing less from Costa Rica’s hardware leader, customer response to this handy gift was overwhelming. Construction workers have even reported using our metric calendars on the job, describing its use as a daily reminder of project timelines.
