Describe the brief from the client
We host a Creative Salon monthly. Each Salon features a creative figure in the Chicago community - they are invited to discuss their own creative process, deadlines and anything else relevant to being a creator. Jon Langford is known as a rebel in both the music and art worlds. We wanted a poster that depicted his rebellious take on punk and country music and how that was incorporated into his paintings as well.

Describe the challenges and key objectives
The challenge was to make the Jon Langford Creative Salon intriguing to the agency and the general public. Objectively speaking, it was very important that the poster reflected Mr. Langford's general attitude and role in the Chicago creative community - that of a rebel and an outlaw.

Describe how you arrived at the final design
The poster design is a marriage between Jon Langford's reputation in the creative world and aesthetic in the art world. The red bandana covering his face reflects his outlaw standing and the hand-drawn etchings mirror his small scale paintings.

Give some indication of how successful the outcome was in the market
The Jon Langford Salon was one of the widely attended. The Salon also attracted a lot of local media attention with mentions in Chicagoist.com, The RedEye and the Chicago Tribune.
