Describe the brief from the client
The client brief for this design was simple and refreshing: "we’re an underfunded, under-appreciated but certainly not under-talented symphony orchestra. Can you help that?”

Describe the challenges and key objectives
The key challenges that followed had nothing to do with money. It had everything to do with the kind of music symphony orchestras play. It was, as one headline has it, “music that goes in one ear and stays there.” Therefore, class was king.

Describe how you arrived at the final design
Arriving at the final design was simply the result of much staring and lateral thinking, and realising that treble clefs and whole notes spell it out. The client was delighted. And now, Etobicoke’s only Beethoven cover band is reaping some very positive attendance results.

Give some indication of how successful the outcome was in the market
Very clever and well received.
