Describe the challenges and key objectives
1. Creating standout in an already overcrowded marketplace with international competitors.2. Creating a fresh look for an existing product while remaining faithful to the visual equity of the old design
Describe the brief from the client
Five Vodka is made by the Welsh Whisky Company in Brecon, Wales, an independent distilling company making gin, whisky, vodka and crème liqueur in small and limited quantities.Five Vodka is a redesign of Brecon Five Vodka, aimed at the Welsh market and sold exclusively at the Brecon distillery. We were tasked with:1. Creating a design that stands out against the vast array of international vodka brands internationally2. Maintaining the company’s modern and contemporary flavour in the design
Describe how you arrived at the final design
Five Vodka is five-column distilled for superior quality and smoothness. The ‘Five’ wordmark embraces both the name and the five distillation processes by emphasising the Roman letter for five, the ‘V’.The black bottle breaks convention in this sector and creates shelf stand out in a crowded marketplace. This limited edition bottling at 40% vol is presented in the same bottle structure as the rest of the products from the Welsh Whisky Company, creating a range look & feel.
