Describe the brief from the client
Finland's biggest tabloid Ilta-Sanomat relaunched their web site. It is one of the biggest sites in Finland and it's the source of real time news and other popular topics for many Finns.

As the new web site offered more interaction for the readers and possibility to comment and influence the content, we decided to communicate this by making something relevant and concrete for the people, something that could be used daily and at the same time demonstrate the real time effect that the readers have.

Describe the challenges and key objectives
The way people consume news has changed rapidly. Digitalization has reshaped the way news is broadcast. Social media has had a massive effect. It has shown us how much power people have. Readers can literally make news grow just by interacting with it.

Describe how you arrived at the final design
We combined the Ilta-Sanomat content to the social media streams. The application we made visualizes the life of the news. You can see which are the most read, most spread, most active and also what the activity is at any given moment.

Give some indication of how successful the outcome was in the market
The application was aimed not only for the readers, but it has been a great help for the editors to see the effects of their work and helping them understand what happens in the ever changing digital environment.
