Outcome
Dozens of noses were spread around town, near the historic neighborhoods, downtown and on the windows of traditional stores. Each one was different — some small and discreet; others bright, extravagant works of art.Together they formed an open-air art gallery.An olfactory experiment was put together in a large exhibition room, where nose-like air fresheners spread the true smells of the city: fresh brewed coffee, baked bread and more.Additionally, dozens of small foam noses were used as a canvas with dozens of artists painting and sculpting them in many forms, creating a marvelous private collection of nosy art.

Brief Explanation
ChallengesWe had to choose a distinctive characteristic of the city. Something that makes it a unique place to live or visit. The next challenge was to draw an itinerary for that special something.Key objectivesCelebrate Lisbon’s cultural diversity. Capture the essence of the city.

Implementation
With a little help from a song -- more specifically, a fado song, (Portuguese folklore). One of its most famous verses goes like this: “Cheira bem, cheira a Lisboa” (Smells good, smells like Lisbon). It is for decades the unofficial anthem of the city.Those words inspired and intrigued us: does a city have its own perfume? That question led to Ivity Sniff Lisbon, a city branding experience. An itinerary that focused on our sense of smell.

Client Brief Or Objective
Lisbon Week is a citywide event that promotes Lisbon’s cultural diversity, its touristic potential and the local commerce. Throughout seven days there were concerts, exhibitions, talks and walks curated by famous citizens of Lisbon —ambassadors of fashion, gastronomy, tradition and others.After designing the visual identity for the event, we were invited to take part.
