Describe the challenges and key objectives
The complexity of the book's content.

Describe the brief from the client
The task was to create a book cover for the German edition of 'Infinite Jest' by David Foster Wallace.

Describe how you arrived at the final design
As a tribute to the book’s complex content, we abandoned the idea of illustrations and decided to use only bold typography. Even on the back cover the reader finds no description of the content, but simply a mirror image of the cover typography.

Give some indication of how successful the outcome was in the market
Despite the somewhat extreme and daring design, the book’s number of pages and its high copy price, it is listed among German bestsellers.
