Describe the brief from the client
La Coupe De Cognac is the French cognac, in the premium segment. Our task was to design packaging for a new brand of cognac.
We should create a dainty, delicious and unique solution, so as to make La Coupe De Cognac noticeable amongst other participants.

Describe the challenges and key objectives

We have proposed a new look for Cognac's bottle design; focus on form rather than on the label. A bottle of Cognac, in the shape of a glass, is an unusual, but simple and recognisable solution. The bottle can be placed both on its bottom, and on its cover. The neck of the bottle was designed to be strong, in order to support the weight of the filled vessels.

Describe how you arrived at the final design
We studied the competitors’ traditions of making, storage and use of brandy. Our idea to focus on the shape of the bottle, and not on its label, was the result of the research.

Give some indication of how successful the outcome was in the market
This decision secured the commercial success of La Coupe De Cognac
