Describe the challenges and key objectives
The spirit of the Nishigaki Lumber Group has been one of “loyalty and integrity” since its establishment in 1912, and in 1986 the company adopted its “Trees and people for the future” slogan, promoting business activities relating to the cultivation, production and distribution of trees, which are natural materials. The goal of Nishigaki Lumber’s calendar is to make a personal appeal based on these management principles.

Describe the brief from the client
Purchasing, selling and market selling of lumber, sawing and timber processing, mountain forest management, real estate leasing (rentals: hardware stores, tennis courts, distribution warehouses, etc.), construction contracting (Minister License of Land, Infrastructure and Transport [Ordinary - 19] License No. 22490)

Describe how you arrived at the final design
We are using this artist to convey an idea that says: “We want you to care more about trees and mountains.” The “brilliant tree art” vividly expresses the vigorous, lively fish and animated small animals together with the flowing water that brings the texture of the natural trees to life, and we are confident it will become a wonderful work that lets you feel the warmth of the trees.

Give some indication of how successful the outcome was in the market
We believe that when you see this calendar, you will feel that even though mankind all lives together in this day and age, we are also a part of nature. We employ various techniques using the same theme every year to keep on expressing ourselves in new ways. This ties in with Nishigaki Lumber Group’s branding.
