Describe the brief from the client
As part of the 2012 competition cycle branding, we were also asked to refresh the corporate brand.

Describe the challenges and key objectives
We needed to create a system for the corporate brand to that complemented and reinforced the Competition cycle campaign. We also needed to create a brand that stands out from other international piano competitions.

Describe how you arrived at the final design
Honens International Piano Competition is a leader in discovering and launching the careers of young concert pianists. It searches for Complete Artists – 21st century musicians for 21st century audiences. For the triennial poster we commissioned sculptor Walter May to create an assemblage for Honens. We then photographed the piece and disassembled it visually throughout the identity application except for the key image for the competition.
