Describe the brief from the client
Hampi natural tableware is a range of natural design disposables, made out of fallen palm leaves.

At first Hampi sold the natural tableware directly to caterers. Hampi decided to also target consumers directly and therefore asked us to create a packaging suitable for retailers.

We were asked to develop an integral design (both 2D as 3D).
Although the plates are sustainable (made from natural shed leaves from tropical trees) Hampi products wants to position the plates as a lifestyle product, targeting young stylish people.

Describe the challenges and key objectives
Key objective: 1. Create a design that fits the lifestyle of the young and stylish targetgroup.
Key objective: 2. Create a design that communicates the unique characteristics of the tableware.

Since the type of retailing outlets are not known upfront, the packaging design should work both in department stores and in supermarkets.

Describe how you arrived at the final design
We have created the integral (2D and 3D) design of this new product range.

The design depicts the story of this special product by showing the transformation of the leaf into reusable natural plates. The sides and top of the packs show the beautiful patterns of the plates.
The shapes used in the logo were a source of inspiration for the actual boxes.

The packaging range consists of two different products:
bowls and plates.

Give some indication of how successful the outcome was in the market
The brandowner got a listing at a chain of exclusive and high-end department stores in the Netherlands, by showing the packaging design to the buyer.

Previously the same buyer didn't have the intention to list the plates.
