Describe the brief from the client
The traditional New Year’s brief: make a Christmas card to send to all members.

Describe the challenges and key objectives
Because of the sad case of reality for the client (parents of road accident victims) we wanted to make something with a positive feeling. Something that at the same time delivered the message ‘Drive Safely’ and had a functional use (making the streets safer).

Describe how you arrived at the final design
Using more than 220-metres of Xmas lights. we created a billboard that illuminated one of the many dark roads in Belgium. We decided upon a DIY look and feel because of the nature of the client: a small reactive organisation that goes for results.

Give some indication of how successful the outcome was in the market
The Xmas card had a massive positive response from members. It was soon after picked up by design and automotive blogs, which spread our message even further. Thanks to the attention the installation received, the government decided to give OVK a higher yearly grant.
