Describe the brief from the client
We needed to develop our exhibition booth within an extremely short period to the main event to Brazil’s design agencies. We saw in that opportunity a chance to encourage our team, by mobilising all around a common goal.

Describe the challenges and key objectives
The main challenges were to promote the agency in a little box, cause an impact, and draw visitors to the booth, while creating brand experience and awareness to Oz Design. In addition, to differentiate it from the competitors present at the same venue, whose standard approach to presentation would be 2D panels. There was also the internal issue of how to motivate and engage the whole Oz Design team in developing the booth.

Describe how you arrived at the final design
How to impact visitors to the fair and express our values within such a short window of time, we chose to explore the symbols of our visual identity – excellence, passion and creativity – in a sculpture made of little red spheres, our colour. To make the execution of the piece possible, and involve everyone in threading 5,872 spheres on 1.150km of nylon, we set a competition in which those who threaded the most spheres would be awarded brunches and days off to enjoy them.

Give some indication of how successful the outcome was in the market
Given its uniqueness, our booth was one of the most visited amongst all agencies in the fair, drawing gazes and comments of admiration from visitors, in addition to instigating physical contact and interaction with the sculpture. The whole agency engaged in developing the project, using all breaks available during regular working hours, as well as evenings and weekends, to complete the project in time. The effects of developing the sculpture exceeded our expectations and a climate of not only engagement, but also fun and relaxation pervaded the agency throughout the execution.
