Describe the brief from the client
Keyvi’s task was to come up with ideas, to create and later implement a sales display for retailing partners, which should increase the attractivity of Bauwerk’s showrooms.

Describe the challenges and key objectives
One of the ideas was the shop parquet configurator, an interactive item of furniture equipped with a 26 inch touch screen including 66 parquet flooring samples for intuitive composition and demonstration of the various possibilities of Bauwerk’s flooring.
30 such configurators are about to be built and delivered in 2011 for Bauwerk’s stores and retail partners, following the
construction of the prototype, which is located in a showroom in Vienna.

Describe how you arrived at the final design
A 26” touch screen has been built in a panel measuring 2330 mm by 2290 mm, embedding 66 parquet floor samp-
les integrated as switches. Employing those samples offers the possibility to display all floors in one of the 11 rooms of choice on the touch screen. Tapping the same floor more than once causes a 90° change of setting direction. 3 rooms
can be selected in 4 different perspectives. Consequently, 20 perspectives were provided with 56 different floors in 2 setting directions. The whole spectrum of parquet floor colours can also be configured via the touch screen. Furthermore, the
user can choose between 28 wall colours in order to adapt the ambience of the room to the selected floor.

Give some indication of how successful the outcome was in the market
The parquet floor configurator is a wonderful tool which enables the user to
test their interior design skills and to try out their personal ideas in a playful way.

45 such configurators are about to be built and delivered in 2011 for Bauwerk’s stores and retail partners, following the
construction of the prototype, which is located in a showroom in Vienna.
