Describe the brief from the client
Plastic pollution is a massive problem, which is why Plastic Pollution Coalition approached us to create awareness of the topic.

Describe the challenges and key objectives
Our client couldn’t afford a huge campaign, so we had to find a more cost-efficient way to communicate.

Describe how you arrived at the final design
Discarded plastic remains in the environment forever. To demonstrate this we used something millions of years old: a fossil. What makes this fossil different is that it has un-decomposed plastic in its stomach. We put it on display in a place where people usually go to appreciate nature, as an exhibit in 1 of Germany’s biggest natural history museums.

Give some indication of how successful the outcome was in the market
Our exhibit drew plenty of attention to the problem that plastic poses, and it became the talk of the museum. Several newspapers and radio stations reported on the exhibit and highlighted the problem of plastic waste far beyond the walls of the museum. Visits to Plastic Pollution Coalition’s homepage, the number of friends on their Facebook page and donations, all increased appreciably.
