Describe the brief from the client
Create a magazine with the purpose of promoting Rona Publishing’s brand and portfolio. Rona is a company with a tradition in the publishing and printing market in Brazil. We were initially asked to design a publication with the traditional features: specific format, grid, constant design, and topics.

Describe the challenges and key objectives
A strategy was developed to identify and develop the Rona’s brand. The goal is to turn the project into a tool for presenting – through a dynamic and interdisciplinary viewpoint – the range of services provided by the publisher. The challenge for the brand is to develop in each issue new printing and publishing possibilities and showcase them in the market.

Describe how you arrived at the final design
The project aims to promote Rona’s portfolio. The art book was given a variable format and brings an interdisciplinary collaboration approach to content development. To promote this dialog, we curated projects from a range of specialists, each in a differentiated format. Distinct finishes/papers were selected to display the diversity of the brand services. ‘Soa como Caos’, the name given to the project, is a palindrome (a word that can be read from left to right and vice versa). The books are separate, so that the reader is given a choice as to their preferred reading order, producing a personal relationship with the publication.

Give some indication of how successful the outcome was in the market
The design strategy project for Rona’s exceeded the expected results. In addition to the distribution to its target public, Rona Editora received a lot of attention from a curious public, which became interested in the project through word-of-mouth in blogs, Facebook, and lectures at universities on interdisciplinary creative process.
