Describe the challenges and key objectives
The festival is the largest in North America, lasting over 3 weeks and featuring hundreds of films from over 60 countries. For some, the size and scope of the festival is intimidating. Trying to sift through so many films, some of them challenging, some never-before-seen, can drive the uninitiated straight to the multiplex. The goal is to make the festival approachable and invite the curious to give it a try.

Describe the brief from the client
Promote attendance of the Seattle International Film Festival.

Describe how you arrived at the final design
The concept of FIND challenges audiences to hunt within the festival to find unique experiences that just can’t be found anywhere else. The poster in and of itself is a puzzle featuring silhouettes in detail-rich scenes, representing all that awaits discovery during the run of the festival.

Give some indication of how successful the outcome was in the market
SIFF continues to be popular, relevant and unique. Due to the success of the 2009 festival SIFF has expanded into new venues outside the city of Seattle. These venues will reach new audiences which may be unfamiliar to SIFF or film festivals in general.
