Describe the brief from the client
The Swiss Socialist Party (SP) was founded in 1888 and is one of the four primary political parties in Switzerland. 20 years after the introduction of the former logo the job of the new design and CD was to represent the parties contemporary spirit without denying its heritage.

Describe the challenges and key objectives
20 years after the introduction of the former logo the job of the new design and CD was to represent the parties contemporary spirit without denying its heritage. Elements of the Swiss national flag, the rose as well as the cobblestone as a symbol of protest have inspired its character. An additional task was to unify the former 3 logo situation whereby every language region in Switzerland had its own SP-Logo.

Describe how you arrived at the final design
The simple message YES reflects the parties forward thinking attitude and became a constant companion of the new logo. The word has being adapted to suit all 3 Swiss languages (JA / OUI / SI). The redesign of the SP identity and its simple message created a never seen before controversial public discussion on national TV, the press and the internet. The subsequent buzz established the logo and its message and helped to make it top-of-mind within the category in record time according to market research.

Give some indication of how successful the outcome was in the market
The new SP Logo has been applied in various applications across all mediums and touch-points available to the Social Democratic Party of Switzerland. Smaller Cantonal affiliates of the party have also implemented and re purposed the logo to make it locally relevant.
