Describe the brief from the client
We were asked to create a series of posters for Invensys, to internally communicate the company’s shift away from pure engineering, towards more progressive technological solutions.

Describe the challenges and key objectives
The project was all about showing staff (and clients) that the company’s new ideas have already produced significant achievements and that Invensys was synonymous with ideas, innovation and invention.

Describe how you arrived at the final design

Invensys is now an ideas company. So, we decided to us the ‘i’ of Invensys in every letter of the alphabet, to create an a-z of ideas. The typography captures a feeling of movement, of progression, of looking into the future. We achieved this by using strong horizontal strokes to create a speed trail, simultaneously using the dots from each ‘i’ to evoke a ‘futuristic’ digital code.

Give some indication of how successful the outcome was in the market
The typographic solution has become known, loved and an inspiration to employees:
“Landor’s strategic thinking and creative work was exceptional. They have developed a creative typography solution that will enable Invensys to realise our strategic vision". - Steve Devany, Head of Corporate Communications, Invensys PLC
