Describe the challenges and key objectives
Because we are dealing with a collection of the same music style, we decided to create a uniform basic pattern for all the covers. That way the layout of the different elements (artist, title, reference number, credits etc) is always the same.

Describe the brief from the client
Vendetta Records is a sub-label of the Blanco y Negro record company, specialists in house music. Since this style quickly changes, Vendetta has to continually bring out new vinyl maxi-singles. From the graphics point of view this demands a flexible cover design at an economic price.

Describe how you arrived at the final design
The proposed design is minimalist, clean and eye-catching using geometric lines. Despite its simplicity and use of few colors, it has satisfactorily managed to create a coherent image which fulfils the client's needs. MICHA MOOR. SPACE. A record whose music veers from minimalist to the heaviest baroque needs a cover which shows both extremes. We resolved it by giving a different treatment to the centre, heavily baroque, while keeping the cover white and minimalist. CICADA BEAUTIFUL. The idea of this one was to transmit the frenzied style of the music to the listener. So the design is made up of coloured horizontal lines, suggesting speed and even vertigo, and makes us think of moving lights and the non-stop dancing that usually goes with the music.

Give some indication of how successful the outcome was in the market
We made an extreme difference compared with our competitors since we developed design style that led the target audience towards our product. It also gave a chance for the artist to sell his record.
