Describe the brief from the client
Volkswagen Classic takes care of the maintenance and preservation of old Volkswagen cars. We were asked to develop a calendar for vintage car lovers.
Describe the challenges and key objectives
Fascinate people with vintage Volkswagen cars, and communicate how passionate Volkswagen Classic cares for them.
Describe how you arrived at the final design
The idea of the Calendar 2012 points out, what makes particularly these cars so worth keeping: their design, their unique distinctive lines and shapes. However, the design is visually only hinted at, the car in its fullest can solely be palpated – via a large-scale and deep embossing. Similar to the tender touch on the carriage of a vintage car lover, the observer will run his hands over the pages of the calendar. Month after month, the calendar will thereby become a haptic and – characteristical for a classical Volkswagen – sensual experience.
