Modus Operandi’s extensive, multipronged Assassin’s Creed III digital campaign includes a just released interactive trailer. This innovative trailer combines traditional film trailer storytelling with the interactive ability for the player to make path and weapon decisions. The result is a compelling and immersive experience that plunges the player into the battle of Bunker Hill as the hero of Assassin’s Creed III.

Built holistically from the ground-up to satisfy users from both a UX and storytelling perspective, Modus Operandi developed scripts, boards and animatics in advance of UI and back-end development. Original motion-graphics, dynamic post-production sound and effects were added to enhance theatricality. The interactive layer was built in Flash as well as HTML5 for mobile playability. Housed on assassinscreed.com as well as on its own Facebook tab, the whole experience was also embeddable in blogs and websites to increase awareness of the tactic.
