Ense, an app to share voice messages with friends, started by Iqram Magdon-Ismail, co-founder of Venmo, has partnered with JWT NY’s Female Creative Leadership Program to create the world’s first hot sauce made by human voice.
The campaign, is called Speak Saucy - watch the launch video here. It aims to show the power of the human voice by using it to grow a crop of hot peppers that will be used to make a voice infused hot sauce - according to research from the Royal Horticultural Society, talking to plants helps them grow.
Through social media, Speak Saucy spurs people to download the Ense app and “Ense” (e.g. record a voice message on the app) hot messages with the hashtag #SpeakSaucy.
These hot messages are then played to the peppers at Brooklyn Grange Rooftop Farm via specially designed Ense speakers. People can watch the plants as they grow and hear their hot messages play live on ense.nyc.
The voice infused hot sauce will be bottled with a simple soundwave design that translates to “Speak Saucy”, and will be used to promote the app with influencers and at various events. Participants will also have a chance to win a bottle of the sauce their messages helped make.
Iqram Magdon-Ismail, Founder, Ense, said: “We are very excited to be using the power of voice to make products. It is also a good excuse to create fun audio content. We hope new and longtime ensers will have fun with it.”
Creative leads Jessica Toye and Devon Wood, added: “Our world, and social media in particular, is defined by visuals. People aren’t used to just audio. So, we wanted an unusual and creative experiment to get people to try Ense and discover that voice is power.”
To help make the world’s first hot sauce made with hot messages and for a chance to win a bottle: download Ense, record a hot message and watch it play live at ense.nyc.
