Vodafone Music Unlimited is Vodafone's new proposition for music services, live music events and sponsorships. The brief: Vodafone required an identity that could be used globally, allowing it to connect not only with existing customers but wider music loving audiences. We were asked to create an emotive 'on brand' and ownable visual language. Design solution: Focusing on the universal language of music that needs no translating, we developed an identity from the globally recognised symbols displayed on music devices, representing actions Stop, Play, Record, Rewind and Pause. Our new language is playful, colourful and interactive, providing us with unlimited expression and endless possibilities. The identity is brought to life through a graphic alphabet and number series that has been created using the symbols. The result is a playful and interactive language that transcends borders, enabling Vodafone Music to build an emotional relationship with its consumers in different markets. The new identity will be rolled out across numerous countries, each market having the flexibility to tailor its communicationss for different audiences and individual campaigns. Its beauty rests in its simplicity and appeal across geographical and musical boundaries and its ability to impact cross all touchpoints from print to digital and experiential.
