Synopsis:
Record Store Day promotes independent vinyl stores. We needed to make people in central London aware of it but without using paid media. We realised that there were many free media spaces within the local communities; shop windows. We created posters that mashed popular businesses found in central London with vinyl, leaving a space for the business to sign their name and publicly show their support. Posters filled the windows of independent shops. Record Store Day 2016 became the most successful event since its launch, with stores reporting sales up on between 10 -25% compared to the previous year.
