Basic description of the project:
Our client came to us and simply asked for a typographic, self-promotional piece to exist on his website http://steveback.net/. It was to be of his name, built as play equipment. It had to be 'fun enough to play on', so we developed the design of a vibrant jumping castle with intertwined letters. We approached the design in the sense that if it were to be built for real it would actually work. This approach helped with the realism and made the 3D imagery feel far more tangible and believable.

Describe the brief from the client
Our client came to us in the need for an eye catching visual to head up his new self promotional website. The brief was somewhat simple. 'I'd like my name to be created out of a bouncy castle'.

Describe the challenges and key objectives
The biggest challenge was the physical structure of the typography. We approached it in the sense if we were to build this for real it would actually work.

Describe how you arrived at the final design
From what was quite a simple brief with so many possible outcomes, our objective was to make this as interesting as possible without going too overboard. We wanted the type to look fun enough to play on, and so we went about making it interweaved and structurally quirky.

Give some indication of how successful the outcome was in the market
After 3 months online, this image has started to appear on many different design blogs such as. NotCot.org, booooooom.com, sharesomecandy.com, lettercandy.com, ffffound.com, piccsy.com, typestack.com, and so on.

We recently received an email from an elementary school teacher in San Diago saying that he had used our image as reference in his 1st grade school art class. He sent us the images they had drawn.
