Synopsis:
In the war for valuable postpaid mobile subscribers, U Mobile lacked the resources to fight Malaysia’s three biggest telcos head-on. However, studying user behaviour, we recognised that people needed plenty of data to watch videos, but were only streaming it on WiFi to conserve their quotas. This was our opportunity to change the data war. By partnering with 11 major video streaming portals and tweaking our network for optimised video delivery, we introduced Video-Onz, a service that provides free video streaming for all our subscribers.
