Results and Effectiveness
Monsieur Dommage´s video clip was posted on the Internet the next day. Within a short time, we had over 9,700 clicks. The media picked up the story, providing coverage both online and in print. In no time at all, we had publicised Torben as a director, generated some major film projects for him, and shown that Cannes is a delight - even without Lions. As Monsieur Dommage would say: "Merci Munich!

Creative Execution
The idea was: advertisers don´t easily fall for advertising, that much is clear. But advertisers sure love Cannes. So we disguised our promotional efforts as a PR campaign from the Cannes Tourist Office. Everyone loved Monsieur Dommage, and of course Cannes itself, so he managed to get a lot of his new friends on film. Everyone was really interested in Cannes, and our practical tourism tips. Munich to Cannes by bus for 30 Euro? We distributed flyers and buttons all evening. We officially honoured the event´s host on behalf of Cannes. Monsieur Dommage´s video clip was posted on the Internet the next day.

Insights, Strategy & the Idea
In July 2009, ADC threw a big party in Munich, featuring the winners of that year´s Cannes Festival. For Embassy of Dreams, this was the opportunity to feature director Torben Liebrecht. Only it wasn´t exactly Torben we sent to the party... it was “Monsieur Dommage”, Tourism Director from Cannes.
